The name Tru Island comes from our idea of an authentic island experience far from the tourism and traffic. The true raw beauty these isolated places have to offer, is the silence. It teaches peace that you can take with you to the mainland and far from our shore. It’s a mindset truly, and can be embodied anywhere on earth. Seven years ago we relocated to the Florida Keys and instantly fell in love with the island lifestyle and its abundance.  The incredible diversity of the ecosystem right in our own backyard was extremely inspiring. We ran a small cafe and also engaged in the sale and rental of stand-up paddleboards within the marine sanctuary. Through our experiences on the island, we gained valuable knowledge and insights, and this put us on a quest to explore various other islands across the globe.
